Murree Tourism Police established to facilitate tourists only

Queen of mountains is about to get its special squad for tourists only. The police department launched a special Murree tourism police to help tourists only. It will help to maintain peace and tranquility in the beautiful region.

Pakistan is a country that earns massive revenue from tourism and traveling. If we talk about tourism, Murree is the name that came into our minds instantly. These days there is a major flux in numbers of tourism in that region.

People visit there with their families and friends to enjoy vacations. It is high time when authorities should take the necessary steps. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Ashfaq Ahmad Khan and City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Omar Saeed Malik inaugurated the tourism police at Lower Topa on May 01, 2022.

Initially, the tourism police consists of 150 officers and personnel, a special tourist van, three specially prepared cars, 25 motorbikes, and a horseback riding team. The police will first be station in the Murree areas where there is an extraordinary influx of tourists and snowfall is causing problems.

Master Plan

After the 21 deaths in the last heavy snowfall season. Police are very active and want to help tourists in any emergency. RPO says this is the Pilot program if it works well, the squad will be station at other tourist spots as well like Fort Monroe, Nankana Sahib, Katas Raj, and Kalar Kahar. Moreover, it helps to control crime and injustice in that area. Tourists complain about getting mugg and frauds, this squad is there 24/7 to facilitate them.

In addition, police also share their plans for Eid and other holidays. They released a toll-free number 1757 for complaints and suggestions. Whereas they are following a strict code of conduct to maintain peace in the region.

Locals and tourists are very happy with this squad and decision. Murree tourism police are more efficient than other police squads. However, it is just the start of something good. Moreover, an awareness campaign is also running to tell about the tourism policy and its effectiveness. It will increase revenue generation in the region.
