SWYFT Logistics introduces ‘period policy’ calling it ‘Monthlies’

In the history of Pakistan’s corporate industry, Swyft Logistics introduces ‘period policy’ calling it ‘Monthlies’, paid periods leave for females.

The two years old tech based company created history by allowing females up to 12 days of pre-approved paid menstrual leaves in a year. Swyft Logistics taken a start up with a 30% female force at work. Women can now take time off during their periods under an initiative called “SWYFT Logistics and period policy”. This initiative is being appriciated by the mases.

Swyft is the one and only company that accept the natural biological cycle of women and take a stand against being sick. The company acknowledges the women state of being healthy yet considered unwell.

Speaking about the policy, Muhammad Uns, the CEO of Swyft, said:

‘I have managed many female staff members over the years, and I have seen women at work who are bent over double because of the pain caused by their periods. Despite this, they feel they cannot go home because they do not class themselves as unwell. And this is unfair. At SWYFT Logistics, we are very understanding. If someone is in pain – no matter what kind – they are encouraged to go home. But, for us, we wanted a policy in place which recognizes and allows women to take time for their body’s natural cycle without putting this under the label of illness’

Swyft Logistics encourages females to speak up openly about their pain and don’t feel ashamed of being in pain. The company is now hoping to get all the people in right direction and normalize talking about periods and pain. Human beings are biological machine which contains complex body structures and functions. It is OK to talk about pain and get a ‘Period leave’ instead of ‘Sick leave’. Therefore, workplace must go with the flow rather than against it

The concept of Monthlies will surely change the perception of society about menstruation illness and will be able to create a happier, healthier and more productive work environment.
