Bushra Iqbal Honors the Late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain

Bushra Iqbal, the former wife of the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, dedicated her Ph.D. degree in Quran and Sunnah to him back in 2022. This was during the University of Karachi’s convocation ceremony where she officially received her doctorate in January 2024.

In a heartwarming gesture, Bushra Iqbal, the ex-wife of the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, dedicated her Ph.D. degree to her former husband. Bushra achieved her Ph.D. in Quran and Sunnah from the University of Karachi two years ago, but due to the pandemic, the university couldn’t organize a convocation ceremony.

Recently, the University of Karachi arranged a belated convocation to boost students’ morale, where Bushra Iqbal, along with other students, received her Ph.D. degree. Expressing her joy on Instagram, she thanked Allah and mentioned, “Alhamdulillah! Today, I formally received my Ph.D. degree in Holy Quran and Sunnah from the Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University Mr. Khalid Iraqi.”

In a touching tribute, Bushra dedicated her academic achievement to her late parents, her two kids, and her former husband, Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who had always supported and encouraged her throughout her educational journey. Moreover, it’s worth noting that Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain divorced Bushra in the year 2020.

Dr. Liaquat, a renowned televangelist and scholar, was popular for his charismatic personality and controversial views. His sudden demise in June 2022 left a void in the religious and media landscape of Pakistan. Bushra’s dedication is a sign of personal growth and a personal tribute to his intellectual guidance and his role in fostering her academic pursuits. However, Dr. Amir Liaqat despite having three marriages, all ended in separation.

This dedication touched many hearts, sparking discussions about the couple’s complex relationship. While their marriage ended in 2020, Bushra’s words highlighted the positive influence Dr. Liaquat had on her life. However, It’s also a reminder that even during complex relationships, there can be moments of love, support, and lasting impact.
