ICC Unveils Star-Packed Commentary Lineup for 2023 World Cup

On September 29, the ICC revealed a high-profile commentary lineup for the imminent ODI World Cup, commencing on October 5. Among the panelists are celebrated World Cup champions including Shane Watson, Lisa Sthalekar, Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, and Matthew Hayden.

As the countdown to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 enters its final days. Meanwhile, the cricketing authority has revealed an illustrious panel of commentary lineup for the highly anticipated event set to unfold in India.

A constellation of renowned voices in the cricketing world will grace ICC.tv’s coverage of the tournament. It definitely promises fans an unforgettable viewing experience. Moreover, the comprehensive coverage will encompass a pre-match show, an innings interval program, and a post-match analysis.

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and ex-English skipper Eoin Morgan are set to join the commentary lineup. However, accompanied by fellow World Cup champions Shane Watson, Lisa Sthalekar, Ramiz Raja, Ravi Shastri, Aaron Finch, Sunil Gavaskar, and Matthew Hayden.

“The commentary box will welcome back Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, and Ian Bishop. Whose memorable calls marked the 2019 World Cup final between England and New Zealand,” announced the ICC.

A lineup of international luminaries and former captains including Waqar Younis, Shaun Pollock, Anjum Chopra, and Michael Atherton will provide live commentary from the box. Moreover, they will be joined by former international stars such as Simon Doull, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Sanjay Manjrekar, Katey Martin, Dinesh Karthik, Dirk Nannes, Samuel Badree, Athar Ali Khan, and Russel Arnold.

The panel is further enriched by some of the world’s foremost broadcasters, distinguished by their iconic calls. Moreover, among them are Harsha Bhogle, Kass Naidoo, Mark Nicholas, Natalie Germanos, Mark Howard, and Ian Ward.

World Cup Lineup

The tournament’s inaugural match will reprise the 2019 final between New Zealand and England. The match will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, the grand finale is slated for November 19 at the same venue.

The Cricket World Cup will adhere to a round-robin format, with all participating teams facing off in 45 league matches. The top four teams will proceed to the semifinals, scheduled for November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata. In addition, both the semi-finals and the final will have designated reserve days.
