Celebrities around the globe are superstitious like crazy

No matter how rational and practical we may consider ourselves to be, we all have some or other kind of obsession that makes us considerably superstitious. But as much as these tendencies satisfy our beliefs, they tend to surprise those who look at them as nothing more than a psychological bug.

No matter how educated we get, we all tend to be a bit superstitious. We read sermons. do rituals and stuff to ward off evil eyes. In the same way, celebrities around the globe are no different. Many of them accept the fact and pay for their rituals proudly.

While some celebrities put their faith in ornaments, others have even more strange superstitions. Including auspicious dates, numerology and specific number plates. The celebrities stick to certain beliefs. Which might sound weird, but make more sense when we look at their success charts.

Here are a few celebrities who follow customs and rituals before doing any new work. And some of them are quite weird, to be honest!

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is drawn to the number 13, and it’s seemingly drawn to her too. “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro,” she reported to MTV in 2009. “Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter.”

Michael Jordan

Basketball legend Michael Jordan reportedly set the trend of wearing longer shorts during the game instead of mid-thigh ones. He did so as a way of covering up his North Carolina shorts which he always wore under his Chicago Bulls uniform for good luck. Imagine the greatest basketball player has this weird thig in his mind.

Superstitious Vidya Balan

The Dirty Picture actress, Vidya Balan is known for her outspoken personality and elegance. Time and again, Vidya has left her massive fanbase stunned with her confidence and positive aura. However, the actress holds on to a strange superstition, which is quite fascinating. Vidya Balan has a thing about the Pakistani kohl brand, Hashmi, and she holds a special place for the same in her heart. It is said that the actress ensures to line her eyes using the kajal before she steps out of her house. Maybe, this is how Vidya had manifested her presence in the Bollywood industry.

Serena Williams

Per her interview with the Daily Mail, Serena Williams is extremely superstitious when it comes to her career. The tennis star brings shower sandals to the court, wears the same pair of socks throughout a tournament run, ties her shoes in a specific way, and bounces the ball exactly five times before her first serve .

Heidi Klum

At an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1998. Heidi Klum admitted that she keeps a bag of her own baby teeth with her at all times. “I carry around a little bag of my teeth,” she told the host. “We don’t have a tooth fairy (in Germany), so I put them in a little bag. Little ones, big ones. Those were like, wisdom ones.” I don’t know if it’s good luck, it’s just a crazy thing that I do.

Superstitious Amitabh Bachchan

Veteran actor, Amitabh Bachchan has been entertaining his massive fanbase with his on-screen presence for over 5 decades now. Over the years, he has given back-to-back hit films and has become one of the most bankable actors of all times. Talking about his superstitious belief, it’s not about picking the right projects or matters of finance, instead it’s about cricket. Yes, you read that right! Like most men, the legendary actor is also a big fan of cricket, but he doesn’t watch the live telecast of a match as he believes that it will make India lose the match.

In 2019, during the show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, Amitabh Bachchan had opened up about his superstition to the guests, Indian cricketer, Virendra Sehwag and Olympic sprinters, Hima Das and Dutee Chand. Amitabh had revealed his superstition and had shared that he doesn’t move while Indian players are playing. In his words:

“I avoid watching the live telecasts of the cricket matches when India is playing. However, if I do and the Indian cricket team is playing a match, I believe in not moving a single part while the players play. Even if my son, Abhishek Bachchan is watching the match as well, I instruct him to not move while the game is on.”
