Alarming post-COVID 9th Class Results in Punjab

9th class results have come out a few days back in Pakistan. The result was announced to the public and students on 19-Sep-2022 on Monday. The announcement of the 9th class results came as a shock to most people. The day of the result is honestly the day of mixed reactions among parents and students. This is because on this day there are many parents who are proud of their children because of the good grades they get. Whereas, there are students who are disappointed with the result they get. This year, however, was quite different for many people. As the result was a complete disappointment for many of the parents and students.

In Lahore Board alone the result was so bad that only 43.27% of students were able to clear the exams. Remember, we are talking about clearing the exams and not excellent grades. Punjab Education Commission has released a complete insight into all board results within Punjab. The details of insights are as follows:

  • BISE Lahore: A total of 260,325 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 112,644 were able to clear the examination which leads to 43.27% of results.
  • BISE Rawalpindi: A total of 120,365 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 54,887 were able to clear the examination which leads to 45.6% of results.
  • BISE Faisalabad: A total of 180,468 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 78908 were able to clear the examination which leads to 43.72% of results.
  • BISE Bahawalpur: A total of 99,526 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 42014 were able to clear the examination which leads to 42.21% of results.
  • BISE DG Khan: A total of 97,744 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 48,710 were able to clear the examination which leads to 49.83% of results.
  • BISE Gujranwala: A total of 234,589 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 10,3501 were able to clear the examination which leads to 44.12% of results.
  • BISE Sargodha: A total of 100,671 students appeared in the 9th class examinations. Only 41960 were able to clear the examination which leads to 42.33% of results.

The Punjab Board of Education is the best provincial education system in the country. However, the announcement of such a low result has sparked concerns among parents. However, the Punjab education commission is not going to realize its mistakes or lack any time sooner. Parents and students believe that the 9th class results came out unfair by the board itself. Whereas, the Punjab Education department is predicting the rise of online activities to be the main reason.
