Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated movie ‘ The Glassworker ‘ has made it to the Annecy International animations festival 2022. The unique tale of father and son mesmerized the jury from all over the world.

Usman Riaz‘s beautiful movie The Glassworker selects in the “work in progress” category of Annecy International Animations festival 2022. This movie is unique because it is Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated movie. Moreover, this movie is among eight other movies that are also selected for the said category. Some of the high-profile films that have made the cut include Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse, Klaus and How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Glassworker is an aesthetic tale of the best glassworker in the entire country Tomas. His son Vincent lives a very normal life with his father. Their sense of reality ends the moment their town becomes affected by unending war. The arrival of a colonel and his violinist daughter is about the change of the lives of Tomas and Vincent forever.

The Glassworker project involves young and talented artists with a median age of 27 years and 52 percent of the team is female. Moreover, news like this is a ray of hope and happiness in these chaotic times. Annecy will showcase the work of Usman for 75 minutes. This exposure will definitely opens a lot of doors for Usman and his talented team.
