It’s a great idea to open doors to religious tourism especially Kartarpur tour and increase access to historical sites in the region.

Tourism, Economy, and Religion:

In Pakistan, International tourism contributes only US$ 1 billion or 0.4% to the economy. A mere fraction of the sector’s potential. Besides being the cradle of one of the oldest civilizations in the world. It is also home to the highest mountains in the world. An array of unique arts and crafts and many historical sites and religious locations, such as Muslim shrines, Hindu temples, Sikh Gurdwaras, and Buddhist monasteries, reflect the pluralistic and diverse backgrounds of the Indus Valley culture. In theory, putting the right policies and implementing them effectively could increase its tourism revenue by three to four times.

Tourism faces several bottlenecks, which need to be resolved to capitalize on this enormous potential. There are many challenges, including an absence of quality standards and enforcement, limited investment, deteriorating infrastructure, a lack of policy-relevant data, and concerns about the safety and security of tourists. In addition, the public sector’s limited institutional capacity hinders growth.

Furthermore, Increasing tourism will contribute significantly to growth, employment, foreign exchange earnings, and revenue.
