Russian president Mr. Vladimir Putin in recent conference showed gesture of respect towards Prophet (PBUH), stating disrespecting Prophet (PBUH) is violation of freedom of speech.
“Insulting Prophet (PBUH) is violation of religious freedom and sacred feelings of people who profess Islam” says Putin at conference.
President Putin even criticized posting picture of Nazis on websites and stated that the reason for extremism are these acts. To clarify his statement Putin exampled 2015 attack on office of Charlie Hebdo, Paris where 12 were killed after release of Prophet (PBUH) cartoon.
Even artistic freedom contains some boundaries which must be accepted and followed rather than speaking against others freedom, he continued.
Russia is multi ethnic and multi confessional state there fore no Russian must disrespect traditions of each other, Mr. Putin added. “In some other countries, this respect comes in short supply” Mr. Putin marked.
In his speech Putin explain that islamophobia is outcome of hate speech and disrespect of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and several Muslim personalities. We share world with different people. We must also respect point of views of each other rather than spreading hate regarding them he added.
To make world better place for living we must learn to respect each others beliefs, disrespecting and hate speech is nothing but just a key to rivalry. Every freedom has some limits and we all must keep them in mind.
PM Imran Khan’s views on Putin’s speech
Prime minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan, Foreign minister Mr. Shah Mehmood Qureshi and many others appreciated and supported Mr. Putin’s statement regarding the respect of Prophet (PBUH) and Muslims freedom.
“I welcome president Putin’s statement it reaffirms my message that insulting our Holy Prophet (PBUH) isn’t freedom of expression” says PM Imran Khan. “We Muslims, especially Muslims leaders, must spread this message to leaders of the non-Muslim world to counter Islamophobia” he added.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also appreciated and welcomed Mr. Putin’s remarks on this issue of and even agreed that insulting our Holy Prophet (PBUH) is violation of religious freedom. “Appreciate and welcome President Putin’s statement, insulting our Prophet (PBUH) indeed is violation of religious freedom and far cry from freedom of expression” said Foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
