Earthquake of 4.1 magnitude hits different areas in Karachi

The epicenter of the earthquake was 15 kilometers northeast of DHA (Defence Housing Authority). Light tremors in different areas including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan and Malir Cantt

Wednesday night at around 10:16, different areas in Karachi experienced a small earthquake. People from different areas reported light tremors. According to PMD (Pakistan Meteorological department), the earthquake measured 4.1 on the Richet Scale.

Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Malir Cantt, Scheme 33, Gadap, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, II Chundigar and city center Gulshan-e-Iqbal all experienced the earthquake.

The earthquake according to PMD, had a depth of 15 kilometers and originated 15 kilometers northeast of Defence Housing Authority (DHA). PDM officials further said that the quake had a longitude of 67.29 east and latitude of 25.17 north.

Soon after the earthquake, people started to panic and messages and tweets about the earthquake started popping up. The earthquake luckily was not so harsh thus no damage is reported.
