Tesla will Build its Own Data Center and Start Hiring Employees.

Tesla has announced plans to build its data center and start hiring employees. This decision makes from the company’s previous strategy of outsourcing data center operations to third-party providers.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said on Tuesday that electric car company Tesla committed to building a factory in the city of Monterrey, an industrial hub in northern Mexico. 

Tesla is hiring people with expertise in data center layout, infrastructure, distribution, and development while adhering to its fundamentals. However, successful candidates must build trust and consensus across cross-functional teams to achieve high-stakes goals. While continuing to promote entrepreneurship, diversity, integrity and multidisciplinary approaches.

Tesla says it will build new data centers. The automaker is hiring employees and snapping up several existing data centers. Meanwhile, the data center company is now a huge market of over $250 billion. Tesla will have greater control over its infrastructure and can customize it to meet its needs. It can improve performance, reliability, and security compared to a third-party provider’s generic infrastructure.

Further, some of the largest companies in the world, known to consumers with other products, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Meta Platforms (Facebook), are among them.

Tesla has shared a new job opening for Sr. Engineering Program Manager, Data Center was first discovered by Electrek last week.

Tesla says it will build the first data centers of its kind, said in a job post. “This role will lead the design and end-to-end engineering of Tesla’s first data centers and is one of the key elements of the plant engineering team.”

Data privacy concerns are rising due to increased data collection and sharing of customer car videos. Tesla faces penalties under GDPR and may need data centers for virtual power plant and energy storage businesses. Customers can participate in the Emergency Load Reduction Program for energy rerouting during emergencies.
