Pakistan To Issue Rs 100 Commemorative Coin

To mark the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The Government of Pakistan has decided to issue a commemorative coin of Rs. 100.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will issue an Rs 100 commemorative coin to mark the 10th anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The coin will be issued through the exchange counters of SBP Banking Services Corporation from August 11, 2023.

“The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has contributed greatly to Pakistan’s infrastructure and economic development since its decade of inception in 2013,” the central bank said. To mark the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the CPEC. However, It added that the government had decided to issue a commemorative coin of Rs 100.

It is round with serrations on the edge, boasting a diameter of 30.00 mm and a weight of 13.5 grams. Crafted from Cupro-Nickel metal, the coin is an exquisite representation of the enduring partnership between the two nations.

On its obverse side, a meticulously crafted five-pointed star takes center stage. The star incorporates elements from Pakistan’s and China’s national flags, symbolizing unity and cooperation. The crescent moon and star from Pakistan’s flag and a group of five stars from China’s flag adorn the artistic star on the right and left sides, respectively. The English inscription “CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CPEC” and the Urdu script “ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN” grace the top. However, the bottom periphery of the coin is embellished with two stars on either side.

The words “FROM VISION TO REALITY” are also written in English. “2013″ and “2023” are also featured on the coin to commemorate the decade of CPEC’s high-quality development.

Iron Brothers

Over the decade, according to Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan, and China have developed strong bonds in diverse fields and call themselves “iron brothers”.

“Chinese president gave the concept of the CPEC during his visit to Pakistan. And subsequently, a memorandum of understanding was signed to implement it.” The minister said. Speaking at a gathering back in June to mark 10-year celebrations of the CPEC.

China had asked Pakistan to make a roadmap. Moreover, the country became Pakistan’s most prominent investor after three years.
