Hamad International Airport Qatar Crowned as Best Airport

A UK-based company, Skytrax, announced the latest ranking of the world’s best airports for 2024. Hamad International Airport in Qatar takes the top spot. 

Skytrax has announced this ranking after thoroughly evaluating feedback from travelers all around the world. Once again, Hamad International Airport in Qatar clinches the top spot, repeating its victory in 2022. CNN reports that travelers love this airport for its modern look, easy-to-understand layout, and upscale shopping options. 

The CEO of Qatar Airways Group said that they are proud to win again, especially as Hamad International Airport celebrates its 10th anniversary. The airport offers unique amenities such as free tours for people with long waits, spa services, and even a swimming pool at the Oryx Airport Hotel. 

Before Hamad International Airport’s victory, Singapore’s Changi Airport claimed the title in 2023 and 2020. In 2022 and 2021, it was Doha’s turn.

The majority of the top airports are in Europe. Nine out of twenty are in European cities like Vienna, Istanbul, and Madrid. Seven of the top twenty are in Asia, with two of them in Tokyo, Japan.

Skytrax conducted evaluations of 570 airports worldwide to compile this list. In North America, Vancouver International Airport was voted the best. In the Australia-Pacific area, Melbourne Airport took the prize, while Indira Gandhi International Airport in India was recognized as the best in its country. Moreover, in South America, EI Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia, was named the best. Panama Tocumen Airport won for Latin America and the Caribbean.
