A suicide attack in the Bajaur district of Pakistan. At least 55 people killed and injured dozens more.

The suicide attack in Bajaur on Sunday killed about 54 people and injured more than 200. It drew explosively condemned globally.

According to a report, at least 54 people claim toll in a suicide attack at the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl workers’ conference in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday. The explosion occurred as more than 400 JUI-F members and supporters gathered under a tent in the Khar, near the border with Afghanistan. Leaders of Muslim countries and heads of agencies of the Muslim world condemned this crime and sympathized with the bereaved.

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha said, condemned the blast in the strongest possible terms.

He extended his sincere condolences to the families of the victim. The Government and people of Pakistan wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed the OIC’s solidarity with Pakistan in its efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.

Furthermore, The Secretary General of the Gulf Arab States Cooperation Council, Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, condemned the attack. The position of the Cooperation Council was firm. He said the Council rejects all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and the Kingdom’s disconfirmation of violence and terrorism anywhere in the world. They express that the Kingdom is in full solidarity with Pakistan and its people.

The ministry sent sympathy and commiseration to the families of the victims. The government and the people of Pakistan and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The United Arab Emirates Ministry also expressed condolences and sympathies to the government and the people of Pakistan.

More than 500 people were attending the conference when the explosion happened, one witness said.

“A powerful explosion knocked me unconscious.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani strongly condemned the attack and offered condolences on behalf of the government and people of Iran.

“Egypt, the government and the people express their condolences and sympathies to the Pakistani government and people. All those Wounds recover quickly.” The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
