Pakistan Shaheens lost first match against Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe A defeated Pakistan Shaheens by 24 runs during the first one-day of the six-match series in Harare on Wednesday. The six 50-over matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club from 17 May to 27 May.

Zimbabwe A won the first one-day match against Pakistan Shaheens by 24 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the six-match series. Chasing a target of 235 runs, Pakistan Shaheens were dismissed for 210 in 47 overs. However, Mubasir Khan was the highest run-scorer for Pakistan with 49 runs in 68 balls, with the help of five fours.

Meanwhile, Haseebullah Khan and Kamran Ghulam added 45 and 42 runs, respectively. Pacer Tendai Chatara was the pick of the bowlers for Zimbabwe A after bagging a five-wicket haul. He conceded only 37 runs in nine overs.

Skipper Wellington Masakadza also impressed with figures of 3-32 in 10 overs. However, For Pakistan Shaheens, Aamer Jamal led the bowling charge with 4/35. Followed by Mir Hamza’s 3/37 while Dahani made two scalps.

Preparations

The 16-member Shaheens squad includes eight players who have already represented Pakistan in international cricket. Besides the eight international players, Shaheens will be hoping for left-arm spinner Mehran Mumtaz to replicate his red-ball form in the white-ball series.
