9 Pakistani pilgrims died in road accident in KSA

Nine Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including women and children, were killed and five injured in a road accident in Saudi Arabia. The Pakistani pilgrims were on their way to Riyadh from Medina after performing Umrah when they met with an accident near the Al Qasim area.

According to the latest news came from KSA. In a brutal accident, 9 Pakistani pilgrims died. Meanwhile, 5 are extremely injured and admitted to the hospital for treatment. All members were driving towards Riyadh after performing Umrah in Mecca. They came all the way from Medina to pay their obligations in the holy city.

The accident happened in the Al Qasim area where a truck hit the bus and it instantly caught fire. After a while the vehicle explodes and the people inside died instantly. Most of the people are on visit visas in Saudi Arabia. They all belonged to Nankana Sahib, Chak 18 and Islamnagar.

In a related incident, Gulf News, a Dubai-based news outlet, reported that around 20 Umrah pilgrims had died, and 29 others had sustained injuries when a bus crashed southwest of Saudi Arabia.

The accident took place on the road connecting Asir province and the city of Abha when the bus, due to brake failure, collided with a bridge, overturned, and caught fire. The victims were en route to Mecca to perform Umrah.

According to Saudi media, the accident occurred on the 14 km-long Aqabat Shaar road in the Asir province. As the bus was traveling from Khamis Mushayt to Abha.

The road, according to Saudi Press Agency, cuts through mountains, and has 11 tunnels and 32 bridges. When the bus was making its way down a bridge it underwent a brake failure. Which caused it to crash into a barrier at the end of the bridge, overturn and catch fire. About 29 other people were also injured in the accident, according to reports.
