Remembering Gen Ayub Khan’s legacy in Pakistan’s politics

Gen Ayub Khan was the second president of Pakistan. He was an army general who rose to the rank of Field Marshal and ultimately became the president of Pakistan. General Ayub Khan came into power through a military coup in 1958. He seized power from then-President Iskander Ali Mirza. He became the first Military general to establish martial law in Pakistan.  Many in Pakistan still consider general Ayub Khan’s tenure to be one of the premier times of the nation.
