Yasir Hussain Chooses Saba Qamar Over Wife Iqra Aziz

Actor and director Yasir Hussain recently made headlines when he chose Saba Qamar over his wife Iqra Aziz for a leading role in his upcoming film.

During an appearance on a private news channel’s talk show, the host asked Hussain to select a female lead from a list of actresses. Despite the inclusion of his real-life partner, Iqra Aziz, in the options, he opted for Saba Qamar.

Yasir Hussain and Saba Qamar have previously worked together in the film “Lahore Se Aagey,” which marked the debut for both actors. Hussain expressed his admiration for Qamar’s talent, saying, “As a lead hero, I did my first film with Saba, and it was her debut as well, so I will pick her. Saba is way more talented than Esra.”

In another segment of the show, the host asked Hussain to choose between supermodel Nadia Hussain Khan and actress Nausheen Shah. He picked Shah, citing her exceptional acting skills and her underrated status in the industry. “Both of them are very beautiful, but I will cast Nausheen Shah because she is a brilliant actor. Hussain explained, “She is very underrated, and I believe she should have received the kind of opportunities and films she is getting now a long time ago.”

Yasir Stands Firm on Saba Qamar Choice

When faced with a choice between Saba Qamar and other prominent actresses like Dur-e-Fishan Saleem, Hania Aamir, Meera Jee, Mathira, Hareem Shah, Sonya Hussyn, Sajal Aly, and Turkish star Esra Bilgic, Hussain firmly stood by his choice of Qamar. He even humorously mentioned that he would like politician Marriyum Aurangzeb to produce the film to fund the project.

During an awards ceremony in June 2019, Yasir Hussain proposed Iqra. They tied the knot the same year in a private ceremony attended by family and friends. The couple welcomed their son, Kabir Hussain, in 2021.
