Angelina Jolie Has An Unusual Photo Shoot for Bees Awareness

For this National Geographic photo shoot, Angelina Jolie did not bathe for 3 days because bees are sensitive to smells and will not sting when the smell is too strong. The session was held in honor of World Bee Day, with Angelina posing with bees for 18 minutes. Thousands of bees were flying around the actor during the photo shoot.

Angelina Jolie is “bee-ing” brave and spreading awareness for bee conservation efforts. The glamorous star sat down with National Geographic for a Bees Awareness exclusive World Bee Day interview and posed for a photo shoot, taken by Dan Winters, with the high-flying insects.

Angelina explained that before the photo shoot, she couldn’t shower for three days! Why? Well, it turns out that bees are super sensitive to different scents. So, to make sure they weren’t confused, Angelina had to skip the shower and use special scents that bees like.

She also shared some funny moments from the shoot, like having bees buzzing around her dress the whole time. Despite the challenges, Angelina believes it’s important for everyone to do their part in protecting bees and the environment.

A Unique Experience

She further explained the process behind the shots taken for the campaign with live bees. She said: “It was so funny to be in hair and makeup and wiping yourself with pheromone. We couldn’t shower for three days before.”

“Because they told me, ‘If you have all these different scents, shampoos and perfumes and things, the bee doesn’t know what you are.’ Then you put a few things up your nose and in your ears so you don’t give them as many holes to climb in,” she shared.

“I did have one that got under my dress the entire time. It was like one of those old comedies,” she added.

The Maleficent actress was named “godmother” for Women for Bees awareness. A program that was launched by the United Nations’s UNESCO and Guerlain. The program is designed to “train and support female beekeeper-entrepreneurs around the world.”

Through this campaign, she hopes to make it easier for people to understand how they can help without feeling overwhelmed. So, next time you see a bee buzzing around, remember Angelina Jolie’s unusual photo shoot and think about how you can help save these important little creatures!
