42 Ukrainian Drones Shot Down, Claimed Russia

On Friday morning, Russia announced that it had taken down many drones that were sent from Ukraine. According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, they managed to destroy 42 drones over an area called Crimea. Thankfully, there’s no news of anyone getting hurt right away.

Recently, the Russian Defense Ministry said that their defense forces shot down 42 drones from Ukraine on the last day. Russia also claimed to have destroyed two places where Ukraine kept weapons and two radar stations.

The Ukrainian military hasn’t said anything about this yet.

There’s been a fight happening in Ukraine since Russia entered the country on February 24. The United Nations thinks that more than 10,000 people have died in this fight.

Both sides in the fight are using drones to attack each other. Ukraine’s military uses drones to target Russian tanks and other vehicles, while Russia uses drones to attack Ukraine’s military buildings and even places where regular people live.

On Friday, the Russian Ministry of Defence said that they shot down nine drones, and 33 other drones were stopped from working and crashed before they could do anything.

They didn’t say if there was any damage or if anyone got hurt. They also mentioned that they knocked down a missile launched by Ukraine in the Kaluga region, which is next to Moscow.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, who is in charge of the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, shared on an app called Telegram that they destroyed a few drones around a place called the Khersones promontory. This area is close to Sevastopol, where Russia’s Black Sea fleet is based.

We don’t know for sure if these drones were part of the 42 that the defense ministry talked about.

Consequences Of War

People are worried that using drones might hurt regular people by accident. In April, a drone from Ukraine hit a place where Russia kept fuel, and at least four people died.

This fight in Ukraine is the biggest war in Europe since World War II. Many people have had to leave their homes because of it. The fight has also made things like energy more expensive and messed up how things are made and delivered around the world.
