Tiktoker Fiona James accepted Islam during Ramadan

Famous Dubai-based Filipina TikToker Fiona James has embraced Islam. Fiona has approximately 0.8mil followers on TikTok. She changed her name to Zainab after she accepted Islam at Islamic Information Centre in Satwa, Dubai, in the first week of Ramadan.

Fiona, who now prefers to be addressed as Zainab. She has officially converted to Islam with some help from her Pakistani friend and fellow Tiktoker.

Originally from the capital city of Manila in the Philippines. Zainab has been residing in the UAE for more than eight years. Her newfound faith was sparked by her fascination with the Adhan (call to prayer) from the mosques. which she often heard while living in Dubai.

In a ceremony held at the Islamic Information Centre in Satwa, Zainab embraced Islam during the first week of Ramadan. Her conversion has since sparked a buzz on traditional and social media alike.

Zainab said, ‘Actually, whenever I heard the call to prayer, I felt peace. I have memorized a lot of the call to prayer. I became interested in Islam after hearing the call to prayer‘.

She is also studying and memorizing smaller chapters of the Holy Quran. Zainab said her family is happy and very supportive of her decision.

“I feel very nice and very calm inside me. I embraced Islam on my own. No one forced me to accept this religion,” she added. Sharing the details of the reaction of her friends and followers, she said: “They were very happy and very supportive of my decision.” A certificate of being the new Muslim has also been issued to her.
