Taxila Station, site of the first Massacres in 1947

Taxila: Diverse populations have always crossed paths in the East and West. Pakistan is one of the main crossroads in these East-West exchanges. On the way to Taxila museum, a left turn reveals an old colonial building with a shed and a police picket indicating a Taxila railway station. The picket door has an iron plate engraved with the name 'Taxila Cantt Junction' on the top.  During the Persian Achaemenid Empire of Darius I (522-486 BC), both the Gandhara region and the Indian subcontinent forged links with the West.
