Google Wallet is now available in Pakistan, bringing digital payment convenience to users. Several major Pakistani banks are supporting Google Wallet, including UBL, Bank AlFalah, Bank of Punjab, Faysal Bank Noor, HBL, Jazzcash, and Meezan Bank.
Google Wallet has officially arrived in Pakistan, offering a new way for people to make contactless payments and store essential cards on their Android devices. Users can now add payment cards, boarding passes, and loyalty cards to their phones, making daily transactions more convenient.
How Google Wallet Works
Google Wallet allows users to link their debit and credit cards to their Android phones and Wear OS devices. This feature makes it possible to tap and pay at supported payment terminals. The service also supports in-app and website transactions where Google Pay is accepted.
Users can also store boarding passes from select airlines. Integration with platforms like PayFast will expand online merchant acceptance. In case of a lost or stolen device, the Find My Device feature allows users to lock or erase their information.
Supported Banks
At launch, customers of Bank AlFalah, Bank of Punjab, Faysal Bank Noor, HBL, JazzCash, Meezan Bank, and UBL can connect their cards to Google Wallet. More banks, including Allied Bank, Easypaisa Digital Bank, JS Bank, and Zindigi, will join soon.
Additional Features
Besides payments, the app offers a place to keep boarding passes and loyalty cards. Users booking tickets through certain platforms, such as Sastaticket.pk and Bookme.pk, can save their passes in this digital Wallet. The app will also notify travelers of updates like gate changes and departure times.
Security Measures
Google Wallet prioritizes safety by using tokenization, which replaces actual card details with a unique digital number for transactions. Each payment generates a new security code, adding an extra layer of protection. Users must verify their identity before adding a card, and all stored data remains safe through screen lock protection.
How to Get Started
To use Google Wallet, download the app from the Google Play Store. If a payment card is already linked to a Google account, it will appear in the app. Otherwise, users can add a new card by following simple on-screen steps.
With this launch, Pakistanis now have a faster and more secure way to pay, shop, and store important travel and retail cards in one place.
