Nikhil Nanda, the son-in-law of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, is facing serious legal trouble. A case has been filed against him in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district, accusing him of fraud and abetment to suicide. Nanda, who is the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Escorts Kubota, is alleged to have pressured a businessman, Jitendra Singh, to meet unrealistic sales targets, which ultimately led to his tragic death.
Allegations Against Nikhil Nanda
According to reports, Jitendra Singh owned a tractor dealership named Jai Kisan Traders in Dataganj. He was allegedly under intense pressure from Nanda and other senior executives at Escorts Kubota to boost sales. Singh, already struggling to manage the business alone after his partner’s imprisonment, was reportedly threatened with the cancellation of his dealership license. Unable to cope with the mounting pressure, Singh took his own life in November 2024.
Singh’s brother, Gyanendra, filed a complaint against Nanda and several other officials from Escorts Kubota. Moreover, the case accuses them of fraud, intimidation, and indirectly driving Singh to suicide. Following a court order, legal proceedings were initiated against Nanda and other company executives, including area and sales managers.

Nikhil Nanda comes from a prestigious lineage. He is married to Shweta Bachchan, the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. They have two children—Navya Naveli Nanda, a social entrepreneur and podcaster, and Agastya Nanda, an emerging Bollywood actor.
In addition, belonging to the legendary Kapoor family, Nanda is the son of Ritu Nanda, daughter of filmmaker Raj Kapoor. his cousins include Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor.
