Cristiano Ronaldo made history yet again at Euro 2024. He broke the record for most assists in the Championship’s history during Portugal’s 3-0 win over Turkey. This comes after he secured the record for most appearances at the Euros with his sixth tournament appearance earlier this week.
Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make history, this time in Portugal’s 3-0 victory over Turkey in the Euro 2024 tournament at Dortmund’s BVB Stadion in Germany.
According to reports, Ronaldo, who is 39 years old, set a new record by becoming the highest assist provider in Euro history since the tournament began in 1968. He achieved this milestone by making his seventh assist, setting up Bruno Fernandes for a goal in the 56th minute.
Portugal was already in a strong position, leading 2-0 at halftime thanks to a goal from Bernardo Silva and an own goal by Turkey’s Samet Akaydin. Ronaldo’s assist to Fernandes sealed the 3-0 victory.
Earlier in the week, Ronaldo became the first player to compete in six European Championship tournaments during Portugal’s 2-1 win over the Czech Republic. Ronaldo, who debuted in the Euros in 2004, holds the record for the most goals scored in the tournament (14) and has made the most appearances (26 games).
The football legend, known for his time with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, now plays for Al Nassr. Throughout his career, he has scored 130 goals in 208 games for Portugal, since his debut as an 18-year-old under coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Ronaldo’s incredible achievements continue to inspire football fans around the world as he cements his legacy as one of the greatest players in the sport’s history. Even at 39 years old, Ronaldo is proving himself to be a legend of the game.
However, the question persists, Can Portugal, led by their ageless legend, go all the way and claim their second European Championship title? Only time will tell!
